Hello friends, I am here to tell you that it’s time to dig out your most outrageous gowns and download Pink Flamingos. Yes, it’s almost shrimpin’ time.
This Saturday, our most beloved Shrimpwitches will celebrating the hatching of their debut album, Gave Me the Itch at the Tote, and in turn will be providing us with the opportunity to release our most outrageous, sensual, and true selves.
We at Bush HQ have been waiting for this moment since our Crustacean Queens released their first EP in 2016 and this album delivers with ten pure bangers and no filler. We received our beautifully bright orange cassettes from Psychic Hysteria today, which can also be ordered here.
However, for you crusty little sea urchins living in your rock pools who have not acquired your physical copy yet, you can also pick up the digital album via bandcamp, which I throughly recommend. Getting the most of out of a Shrimpwitch album launch takes some preparation, you need to get your energy (and hair) as high as possible, find the perfect outfit and learn all the lyrics. I expect full audience participation, don’t let me down.
Joining Kim Prawn & Georgi Goonsack for their big day is a righteously empowered lineup of punk power. You won’t want to be fashionably late to this party, for this is your big chance to witness the brand new supergroup Affection (featuring members of Loose Tooth and LOOBS) as well fellow ocean dwellers Porpoise Spit, Dark Water and the incredible, politi-cute, Racerage.
Oh shit, I’m so keen. Now excuse me whilst I work on my John Waters/Devine/crustacean mood board. See you Saturday! xx
